Mentors

Some companies sponsor a number of their employees to become mentors during working hours. We develop specific programmes that align the mentoring programme with the specific objectives or line of business of your company and provide tailored training for participants. Companies cover the cost of this one-to-one support for their employees. Volunteer programmes like Mentori enhance employee retention and motivation and help raise awareness for initiatives Companies are supporting.

Mentor volunteers give you at least four hours a month of their time (on average one hour a week) during a minimum of one year. Often mentors build a close relationship with their mentees and we therefore welcome those mentor/mentee pairs who decide to continue their relationship beyond the first year.

No, because with Mentori you don’t have to download any software. You just visit the Mentori secure login page and once you are logged in our high level encryption (as secure as internet banking) will keep all the information you upload and exchange with your mentee private and confidential.

Just be honest, and say you don’t know. With your coaching skills you should be able to help your Mentee find the answer for themselves. However, you are not alone, as a mentor you will be part of a community of fellow mentors who are there to support you when you need help too.

Mentees

I share my computer with someone else - will they be able to see what I discuss with my mentor?

No. Once you have logged in with your password the Mentori site is fully secure and encrypted (it is as secure as internet banking). You can confidently use any computer, even one in an internet cafe, because you don’t have to download any software to use it. At the end of your session just make sure you logout.

No. Mentori can work with a normal dial-up internet connection. If you are uploading large documents, this will of course take slightly longer.

Typically, the Mentor is funded by their employer or a third party funder. In these situations there is no cost to the Mentee. However, if as a Mentor you are able to source funding, we would be happy to source Mentors for you.

In line with the objectives of your organisation, whether you are striving to engage your people in an international initiative or looking for a way to support your local suppliers, we will tailor Mentori to your needs. One of the key services we offer is monitoring and gathering learnings on what makes your initiative thrive and sharing these with you and your people so we can constantly improve the impact of your Mentori initiative. The training materials we upload can be designed to fit and complement your in-house programmes and the business tools that are provided for mentors and mentees to interact can reflect your ways of working. We can also measure and evaluate your Mentori initiative according to criteria that is important to your organisation.

We ensure the initiative is of value to your organisation and your people. Through adapting Mentori to your needs, training mentors in coaching skills, sourcing materials that facilitate your mentor and mentee engagement, compiling and sharing user learnings/experiences, providing annual impact assessment reports. We have standard measurement tools that we use such as Gallup employee engagement scores and Mentor/Mentee programme satisfaction questionnaires. However, we can also measure and evaluate your Mentori initiative according to criteria that is important to your organisation.

It depends whether you want us to give personalised one-to-one support and training to your participants or whether you just want us to support your initiative overall. One-to-one support is priced on a per mentor basis, and is on a decreasing scale depending on how many mentors you are sponsoring, the minimum number being 10. Support for your initiative overall is priced on a fixed fee (up to an agreed maximum number of users), which is useful for planning purposes if you want to offer Mentori to everyone and you do not want to have to turn down participants because of budget constraints. Your dashboard provides an overview of activities across all your online Mentori mentoring spaces - every outstanding (and upcoming) task, every document awaiting your review and every new bit of content that has been marked for your attention. You can even subscribe to the information using your favourite RSS reader and calendaring application. No more trawling - let Mentori bring the information straight to you.

Thrash out an idea. Make a list. If you just want to keep it simple then stick it on a whiteboard. You can share it with the rest of your mentoring group, let them make their changes and everyone can add comments. Simple.

Mentori's filing cabinet provides a secure and easy way to upload, organise and share any type of documents and files (graphics, video) with your mentoring group, no matter where they are. Mentori even looks after the review process and will automatically let people know when they have a document that requires their sign-off.

Use Mentori's calendar to keep your mentoring project running smoothly. Easily create tasks and assign them to anyone working in your Mentori mentoring space. They'll receive a cheerful reminder when it's due and they can keep you up to date with their progress by adding comments.

Tired of manually letting people know when you’ve created that document or added a comment? Mentori’s sophisticated alerts and notifications system lets the right people know on your behalf – in the format that suits them best (email, RSS, within Mentori)

Mentori provides so much more than just a place to store files. Documents and spreadsheets can be edited in Mentori using powerful online applications and Mentori will track and store old the versions as they're changed. In addition, every action is audited so you know exactly who did what and when.
